Grilled Lettuce with Strawberries and Goat Cheese



  • 1 head lettuce, cut into quarters leaving the core in place
  • 1 pt strawberries, cleaned
  • 4 oz goat cheese, anything from fresh chevre to a crotin
  • balsamic vinegar
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  1. Heat grill to medium hot
  2. Wash and dry the cut lettuce
  3. Drizzle the lettuce with olive oil, salt and pepper
  4. Place on grill, cut side down, and cook until the leaves are frilly and charred and the inside is slightly tender
  5. Flip and char the outside leaves
  6. Remove from grill and place on a large plate with the cut side up.
  7. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and serve with the goat cheese and strawberries
